Mystery of Godliness – S.N. Haskell
S. N. HASKELL, Bible Training School, February 1919.
The word “mystery” occurs twenty-seven times in the Bible. It is derived from a Greek term signifying, “What is known only by the initiated.” The apostle says, “Great is the mystery of godliness;” then he explains the term by saying, “God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.” 1 Tim. 3:16.
If the apostle had said, “Great is the mystery of God,” all at once would have said, “Yes we know that; but it is GODLINESS that is the mystery. It is God manifest in the flesh.” It is justification in the spirit. Such was the life of our […]
Christ in You, How?

Ephesians 3:15 Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,
Ephesians 3:16 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; (see 1 Peter 3:4)
Ephesians 3:17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,
Ephesians 3:18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;
Ephesians 3:19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.

Christ Divested of the Personality of Humanity and Glorified
Audio
Cumbered with humanity [as a human on earth], Christ could not be in every place personally; [as a human on earth] therefore it was altogether for their advantage that He should leave them [from earth to go to Heaven], go to His father [in Heaven], and send the Holy Spirit [an agency from Heaven: John 14:12 Quoted, “By this, Christ did not mean that the […]
How and Why I was Disfellowshipped from the Seventh-day Adventist Church
It’s very possible that the others involved in this quandary will remember the details a bit differently than I do, but this is how I recall the situations to the best of my ability in a succinct way.
If you too have a story to share, please send that story through an email here.
Toward the end of 2014 I was studying the book of Revelation to teach it as a series of verse by verse lectures. I knew Revelation 3:14 would give me trouble in my current understanding as a […]

Another Probation
Here the mysterious cup trembled in His hand. Here the destiny of a lost world was hanging in the balance. Should He wipe the blood drops from His brow, and root from His soul the guilt of a perishing world, which was placing Him, all innocent, all undeserving, under the penalty of a just law? Should He refuse to become man’s substitute and surety? refuse to give him another trial, another probation? Ms42-1897.7
Separation from His Father, the punishment for transgression and sin, was to fall upon Him in order to magnify God’s law and […]

Angels Studies with Daniel Mesa
Here are a few studies on the angels, and there may be more to come. =)
“In the Word of God are represented two contending parties that influence and control human agencies in our world. Constantly these parties are working with every human being. Those who are under God’s control and who are influenced by the heavenly angels will be able to discern the crafty workings of the unseen powers of darkness. Those who desire to be in harmony with the heavenly agencies should be intensely in earnest to do God’s will. They must give no place whatever to Satan and his angels.” 18LtMs, Ms 95, 1903, par. 9

“He That is in You” by Christina Hilton, 16 Years of Age
(I asked Christina if I could share this paper, which she had written for a high-school homework assignment… praise God. =)
Can we overcome sin and, if we can, how? Revelation chapters two, three, and twenty-one all say “To him that overcometh”… and go on to describe the rewards of the overcomer. Why would it say that if overcoming is impossible? How can we overcome? The answer is in 1 John 4:4 which says, “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that […]
An Open Letter to Seventh-day Adventist Pastors
The reader will find below a numbered series of thoughts that were put together by a currently employed Seventh-day Adventist pastor in an effort to establish the doctrine of the trinity using mostly Ellen White’s writings. These thoughts came to me in the order following, and were originally numbered as they are. I’ve added responses in blue considering the context of each passage with additional Bible verses.

50 Bible Questions About the Trinity
- Where are the words ‘trinity,’ triune,’ triunity,’ or the like in the Bible?
- Can we find ‘God the Son’ in the Bible?
- Can we find ‘God the Spirit’ in the Bible?
- Where is the term ‘co-eternal’ in the Bible?
- Where is the term ‘co-equal’ in the Bible?
- If the salient words or phrases of the trinity are not found in the Bible, where did this idea come from?
- In an Old Testament prophecy of Jesus Christ in the Bible, when it refers to the “counsel of peace” which is “between them both,” who are […]
The Fraudhead
THE PROBLEMS:
The “counsel of peace” was between them both, which refers to the Father and His Son, as it reads in Zechariah 6:13 (see also Patriarchs and Prophets 34.1, and The Great Controversy 493.1). The enemy, satan, wanted to be “like the Most High” (Isaiah 14:14). He wanted to be as the “Son of God” who had been involved in the plans of the creation of man (see Hebrews 1:1-2, and Ephesians 3:9).
The enemy, as a created son of God, was not allowed into the counsel of peace between the Father […]
Two Pastors (one non-trinitarian) Answer questions About the Holy Spirit
Pastor Daniel Mesa (a non-trinitarian) and Pastor Kenneth Jørgensen (a trinitarian) were asked a couple dozen questions about the Holy Spirit by Light Channel Ministry. Learn with us in the video posted below to understand more about the ways some pastors answer a few of the harder questions regarding this life-changing subject.
(Audio cuts out periodically in the video for Pastor Mesa due to a slower internet speed, so please ask questions if you have need for clarification.)
Saturday or Sunday – Does it Matter?
With God the Father as Creator through His Son, look at the first gift of time God gave to man.
Saturday, seventh day of the week; different theories explain name, including that it comes from the Latin Saturni dies, or day of the god Saturn, and that it was named Saturn’s-day by Babylonians after Saturn, one of the 5 planetary bodies known to them; Jewish Sabbath, or holy day; (Compton’s Interactive Encyclopedia).
Friday, sixth day of the week; name derived from Frigg’s-day; Frigg (or Freya), the wife of the god […]
Allos in the New Testament
160 times in 141 verses the word “allos” is used in the Greek New Testament. BUT, because most don’t speak Greek, we’ll use the English translations. =)
Why? Because we are at the Passover time. This is what Christ was speaking of 2,000 years ago…
The verse in question that uses the word allos is John 14:16, “I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever.” Believers in the one true God of the Bible (in light of John 17:3) believe […]
