The first 19 years as a Christian (working since 2000 as a pastor), one of the things I came to do was to exalt a false Christ in the place of His Father. Since 2015, I’ve come to understand that we would be completely without hope were it not for the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Knowing the Bible describes worship of the Father and Son, we should not replace the worship of the Father with worshipping the Son, as I had been led to do.

God the Father:

      • Gave His Son all power: (Matthew 28:18)

      • Gave His Son a work to do: (John 17:4)
      • Gave gave humans to His Son (John 17:6)
      • God is the head of Christ: (1 Corinthians 11:3)
      • Christ will always be subject to His Father: (1 Corinthians 15:28)
      • God is the God of our Lord Jesus Christ: (Hebrews 1:9)
      • The Son is an heir/inheritor: (Hebrews 1:2, 4)
      • God gave His Son a name: (Hebrews 1:4, Philippians 2:9)
      • God has highly exalted His Son: (Philippians 2:9)
      • God Anointed His Son: (Hebrews 1:9)
      • God told His Son to sit at His right hand: (Hebrews 1:13)
      • God gave glory to His Son: (1 Peter 1:21)
      • God sent His Son: (1 John 4:14, John 3:34)
      • Sent the Spirit of His Son: (Galatians 4:4, 6)

God the Father is the:

      • Comforter through the Son: (2 Corinthians 1:3)
      • Creator through His Son: (Ephesians 3:9)
      • Deliverer through His Son: (Colossians 1:12-14)
      • Judge through His Son: (John 5:22, 27)
      • Life through His Son: (1 John 5:11-12)
      • Reconciler through His Son: (2 Corinthians 5:19)
      • Redeemer through His Son: (Galatians 4:4-6)
      • Resurrector through His Son: (2 Corinthians 4:14)
      • Revealer through His Son: (Matthew 11:25-26)
      • Saviour through His Son: (1 Timothy 1:1)
      • Sealer through His Son: (John 6:27)
      • Supplier through His Son: (Philippians 4:19)
