We are in spiritual war. It’s obvious every day. Here’s what Paul says to do twice in one chapter, saying that with this we’ll be able to stand in the evil day:

“Put on the whole armor of God…” Ephesians 6:11, 13.

• We need our loins girt about with truth – found in the Word: “Thy Word is truth…” (John 17:17)
• We need the breastplate of righteousness – found in the Word: “The word of Thy righteousness…” (Psalm 119:123)
• We need our feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace – found in the Word: “Hear the word of the gospel…” (Acts 15:7)
• Above all, we need the shield of faith – found in the Word: “Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God…” (Romans 10:17)
• We need the helmet of salvation – found in the Word: “To you is the word of this salvation sent…” (Acts 13:26)
• We need the sword of the Spirit – “which IS the Word of God…” (Ephesians 6:17)
• Praying always… (Ephesians 6:18)
